Goodbye. For now.
It is with sadness that I tell you of the passing of a friend. Lisa Newton had struggled with cancer for the better part of the last 2 years. She was a successful photographer in Lilburn. She was a wife to James, and a Mom to the 3 children. But more than that she was a child of God, and she passed that love on to everyone she met in these last months of her life here. She went from this life, to that Life. And I know that she would want you to know you can have that Life too. She didn't get "deathbed religion". What she had wasn't any kind of religion, but a relationship with Jesus. Religion, any of the many religions found here, are just feeble attempts by sinful people to reach up to a holy God. The relationship with Jesus only comes by accepting that God has already reached down to us through his Son's death, burial, and resurrection. It's that easy, and that hard. Leave yourself and your sin behind, and accept His gift of forgiveness.
A celebration of her life will be on Saturday. We can celebrate because we know she is now more alive than she has ever been, and those who belong to Him shall see her again.
