Blake MacKenzie Harris

A hero. Decorated for his service to us, and his country. He was killed in Iraq last week. In Iraq he led nightly bible study, and was a leader among his men. When his body was taken out, instead of 2-3 soldiers accompanying him, his entire squadron insisted on walking him out. He was that kind of guy. Except Blake Harris wasn't a "guy". Blake Harris was a man. There is a difference. He will be buried at Arlington this coming week. His uniform was on display in lieu of his body.

I have recently become involved with Operation Love, which provides photography to service people either deploying or returning. I will be at Hartsfield this coming week to photograph a reunion of a husband coming home to his wife for a time of leave. Blake's memorial cemented my resolve to support these fine people giving up so much for us.
